Nan Hua High School actively promotes the conservation of the environment. Thus, the school started the School Total Environment Education Programme (STEEP) in 2003 with the aims to nurture in our students an appreciation of their rich environmental heritage, provide more insights and knowledge of the environment and to inspire in our students the desire to preserve and protect the environment.
STEEP takes a whole school approach in ensuring our aims are achieved. This is done through the following:
· Environmental curriculum
· Environmental leadership
· Environmental facilities
· School Environment Standard
This programme not only integrates modules in both the Humanities and Sciences but also the relevant projects from the other departments and enrichment activities and learning journeys to achieve an in-depth, broad based learning and to ensure environmental awareness is constantly inculcated in our students.
In recognition of the good work done to conserve the environment and to increase environmental awareness amongst our students through our whole school approach, our school was awarded the President Award for the Environment in 2010 among many other awards and recognition given to our continual efforts to interest and engage our students and the wider community.
